Central City Series Round 3
Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd June 2007 (Geelong Kart Club)
Round 3 of the Central City Series in the end proved to be a continuation of our bad luck.
Unfortunately due to an error in setup Dylan was sent out in Heat 1 with significantly less rear grip than was needed for the conditions, this combined with the event being his first drive at Geelong resulted in a tough opening race. Despite his best efforts Dylan was unable to prevent himself from slipping back from his start position of 12th to finish in 20th.
With a host of setup changes, Dylan began the reverse grid Heat 2 in 28th place hoping for a better result. While the performance of the kart had significantly improved, he was unable to demonstrate it when forced to pull of the track to avoid an accident involving 8 karts.
The frustrations only proved to continue in the Pre-Final on the 3rd, when a seemingly innocuous clip of the ripple strip resulted in a slight bend of the axle which not only resulted in a thrown chain forcing Dylan out of the Pre-Final, but caused enough damage that we were forced to withdraw from the Final.
Despite the recent run of bad luck, we are resolved to working even harder to overcome the problems and achieve the results that we are capable of.
