May Club Day
Sunday 27th May 2007 (Oakleigh Go-Kart Racing Club)
Following a few tough race meets, we began the May Club Day with no expectations or plan beyond having a bit of fun.
Starting in 12th place Dylan picked his way through the field to finish in 9th place, just 0.12s behind 8th place Nicholas Lakasas and a further 0.25s behind 7th place Mark Appleby.
In 8th for the reverse grid Heat 2, Dylan found himself in a tough fight for 7th place with Ashley Arora (97A). Having the best of it Dylan was able to keep ahead of Ash for 4 laps until an problem with the carburetor resulting a fuel feed issue at low revs caused Dylan to slip back rapidly to finish in 14th place.
With no spare carburetor at the track and having attempted a quick fix, Dylan headed out in the final. Unfortunately the attempted fix did not work as planned and Dylan slipped through the field to finish in last place.
Despite the misfortune the day proved to be as much fun as we set out to make it.
